The guarantee operates within the cost of the trip and in any case not more than € 10,000 per person and € 25.000 per event (i.e. in the event that the cancellation involved more than one insured person, as indicated below) and provides for the reimbursement of the cancellation penalty charged by the trip organizer or Carrier (excluding registration fees and opening/practice management fees ) that the Insured is obliged to pay (and that are not recovered in any other way) if he/she is forced to cancel the trip as a result of one of the following sudden events, unforeseeable and documented events of such severity that the Insured is compelled not to undertake the trip due to his or her health condition or the need to provide care to persons whose health condition is the cause of the cancellation:

1. Death, Illness or Accident:

- of the Insured;
- of a Family Member of the Insured;
- of the Traveling Companion;
- of the Insured's Firm Member/Co-owner or direct supervisor,

2. Pathologies of pregnancy provided that the same has been ascertained subsequent to registration for the trip (except what is specifically excluded with regard to this guarantee under the Specific Exclusions);

3. material damage to the home, studio or the Company of the Insured or his/her family members that make his/her presence indispensable and unavoidable;

4. inability of the Insured to reach the place of departure as a result of serious natural disasters occurring in the place of residence and declared by the competent Authorities;

5. breakdown or accident to the means of transportation used by the Insured that prevents him/her from reaching the place of departure of the trip;

6. subpoena to the Court as a witness or juror, or summons to a People's Court of the Insured, notified to the Insured subsequent to booking;

7. theft of the documents necessary for expatriation, if it is demonstrated that it is impossible for them to be made up before departure;

8. inability to take the vacation planned prior to travel registration as a result of redundancy or new employment (provided that at the time of booking the trip the Insured had no reason to foresee the occurrence of such events) or revocation of the vacation as a result of serious illness or injury of the Insured's immediate superior;

9. inability to reach the chosen destination as a result of hijacking caused by acts of air piracy;

10. inability to undertake the trip as a result of the change of the date:
- of the session of school or professional examinations;
- of participation in a public competition;

11. inability to undertake the trip in the event that, in the 7 days prior to the departure of the Insured himself, there is a loss or theft of his animal (dog and cat duly registered and owned by the insured) or a life-saving surgery due to injury or illness suffered by the animal. Partially derogating from the "General Exclusions operating for all guarantees" (letter "a"), cancellations resulting from pre-existing illnesses are understood to be included in the guarantee.
In the event of a claim involving several Insured Persons enrolled in the same trip, the Company will reimburse all eligible family members and only one of the traveling companions on the condition that they are also insured and enrolled in the same trip.

Special Conditions

1. If the trip is cancelled at a time after the occurrence of one of the events provided for in this Guarantee, the policy shall provide for the reimbursement of the penalty provided for on the date on which such event occurred, provided that it does not exceed the penalty actually charged (Article 1914 of the Civil Code). Therefore, the greater penalty charged as a result of delay in communicating the cancellation of the trip will remain the responsibility of the Insured.

2. If the Insured Person is registered for the same trip with two or more persons, not family members, or with a pre-established group or with other family members, in the event of cancellation, the guarantee is understood to operate, in addition to the Insured Person directly affected by the event, for his/her family members or for only one travel companion.

3. Reimbursement will be made by applying the following limitations:
a) in case of cancellation due to an event not resulting from injury or illness of the Insured: on the amount to be indemnified, a 10% overdraft will be applied with the minimum equal to the following deductible:
